You guys are getting a lot of no-makeup looks from me recently. 😀
Have you ever had an ah-ha moment about something you’d heard but just didn’t quite think could be true? Well, I recently had one of those moments about a new face soap I’ve been trying. I’ve always read that if you dry your face out with salicylic soaps and deep cleaners, your skin will go into over drive and produce more oil. I, of course, thought this was only something that happened to dry skinned people. People with oily skin ( like me ) had to wash their face with a strong cleanser or all the oil and dirt wouldn’t be washed away.
Boy, could I ever have been more wrong. The soaps I would use would clean my skin, but by the end of the day, my face would be grossly oily again. I also use a toner and lotion to balance everything out, but the soaps were drying me out too much. When I read the description for Exzuviane’s Gentle Cleasing Creme, I almost didn’t apply to try it. I didn’t have dry skin, and even though my face can be a little sensitive to certain dyes and fragrances, I wouldn’t consider my skin to be sensitive. Still, I thought, it wouldn’t hurt to give it a go, so I did.
And what a difference! Since using this product ( and I’ve only changed my face soap, nothing else ), my skin has seen major improvement. My breakouts have almost completely gone away and I no longer have the rough, patchy places that come from my eczema. When I started using the wash, I noticed it didn’t lather. This is due to the fact it doesn’t contain soap. I think that might have been what was irritating my skin so badly.
The cleanser gently removes all oil and even makeup from the skin’s surface, all without disturbing the skin’s moisture balance. I’ve seen this on myself. My skin feels clean to the touch, but not dry. And all throughout the day, my skin feels moisturized, not itchy.
