When the seasons change, I find myself cleaning out my closet to make room for new items. It’s amazing the things I’ll hold onto one year and the next think to myself, ‘why did I like this anyway’? As I’ve come a little more savvy with buying clothes, I’ve tried to stick to basics and staples with a few special items thrown in.
Today, I’m sharing the top five things I think every spring wardrobe should have.
1 | STRIPED DRESS – Everyone should have at least one striped dress in their closet. And if you don’t, I’m judging you ( just kidding ). But seriously, this dress is such a great staple. Despite what others say, I think that stripes are a neutral that can easily be combined with a myriad of colors and even patterns.
2 | WHITE JEANS – This is probably one of the most worn items in my closet. They go with everything, can be dressed up or down and are super comfortable. Cool for day wear and warm for slightly chilly spring nights.
3 | SLEEVELESS STAPLE TOP – I used a blue top here, but any color would work. Pick your favorite color and style, and wear it with everything! I literally have one top that I’ve worn out I love it so much. It’s perfect for layering while the weather is still chilly, and then cool when the weather warms up.
4 | FLORAL HEELS – Every fashionista should have at least one pair of floral heels. So fun for wearing with jeans and a sweater or a white dress and straw hat.
5 | BOLD COLORED BAG – Perfect for making a statement with an understated, neutral outfit. Or pair with a bold colored outfit for extra flare. Pick one that will be useful as well as stylish.
