One of my favorite bloggers gave me an idea recently that really paid off. One of the biggest selling points for any top is that it is long enough and loose enough for comfort. There’s nothing worse than a top t-shirt that is so tight or short that you literally feel like you can’t move for fear of showing more than you intended.
Well, this blogger happened to mention in one of her posts that whenever she is working on a sewing project with casual clothes, such as a t-shirt or sweatshirt, she tends to head to the men’s dept. The tops are cut more boxy and loose, which makes them perfect for comfort and ease of wear. So, I decided to take her advice and pick out some mens tops. I chose a size that was about two sizes too large for me, just in case of shrinkage.
Below, I’m sharing three ways you can style an oversized t-shirt and rock the look!
1 | Tuck it in- Take the hem of your t-shirt and slightly tuck it in to your waistband. Fluff the edges out and you’re good to go.
2 | Roll the sleeves- Men’s sleeves tend to be a lot longer than women’s, so rolling the hem up not only breaks up the look, but it also softens the look of the sleeve.
3 | Knot the bottom- If the top is extremely over-sized, you can knot the hem over a dress or skirt. It really adds a nice finishing touch to your look.
