Every time I look at these pictures, I’m reminded again of the wonderful trip I took and how much I can’t wait to go back. This particular day, the temperature stayed in the upper 50’s, so I was genuinely in sweater heaven. I keep remembering the sound of the river below me ( it’s to the right of me in these pictures ) and the sound of leaves rustling around me.
Ok, enough of that. Back to reality.
I remember the first time I saw a cargo jacket styled and I fell in love right away. It’s so easy to put them just about anything, so I call them a neutral and a staple. If you don’t have one, you must buy one!
I’ve styled mine in four different ways in the past.
As a layer
A cargo jacket can help break up an otherwise very dull outfit. Adding it over a sweater or under a coat add a nice unique touch. See post.
As a down player
Wearing dresses is one of my favorites, especially in the summer. However, the weather here does not cooperate most of the time and I tend to wear my summer dresses in the fall as well. Adding a cargo jacket adds a nice fall touch. See post.
As a detail
Theres nothing that says fun and casual like tying a jacket around your waist. Cargo jackets are great for adding an extra detail to an otherwise ordinary outfit. See post.
As a fall staple
And like I styled it above, having a cargo jacket on hand for when the weather tips a little cooler, but isn’t quite cool enough for a coat, makes for a great in-between.
So what about you? How do you like to style a cargo jacket?
