The title of this post actually should be ‘Styling Fancy Jewelry Casually ‘. Something I have always loved accessorizing with is rings. I seriously don’t think you can have on too many of them. And once again, Violet and Brooks does not disappoint. ( If you missed my first post with Violet and Brooks, check out this link. ) They have the prettiest, most delicate jewelry.
One of my favorites is the gold circle ring I’m wearing on my pinky ( you can see it in the top picture ). It’s so pretty and dainty! It matches the circle earrings I’m wearing. I typically don’t go in for studs. They always seem to fade away and not be seen when I wear them.
However, when I pinned my hair back on one side, instantly, there was the earring, almost as though it had a spotlight on it. One way to style casual jewelry so that it shows, is to make sure it stands out against your clothes and hair. Don’t wear anything that will eclipse or shadow it. ( The set above is part of Oprah’s Favorite Things and is under $50! )
Another thing I decided to try, was wearing all the rings in the set. This particular set has all small, delicate rings that had different stones sit into them. I wore all of them on various fingers for a mono-chromatic look. With wearing all the rings at once, it really makes a statement on your hands, especially when wearing a casual outfit.
Finally, I say pair your fancy jewelry with thing clothing items, like jeans and sweatshirts. Take a statement piece and pair it with a t-shirt dress, or long earrings with jeans and a t-shirt. It makes for such a dramatic but fun look.
