For those of you celebrating Valentines Day, I’m sure you’re planning on stepping out with someone pretty special, and for that you want a nice Valentines date night outfit.
But if you’re like me, you’re budget is already stretched out and you can’t go out and buy yourself something new.
So, what do you do?
Well, you shop your own closet of course! And how do you do this? Well for me is was seeing my wardrobe through different eyes. I had to simply stop thinking of certain pieces as only being used for certain things and start thinking of each piece of clothing as a styling piece.
So, I started brainstorming about what I could use from my own closet without spending a penny. I knew I wanted something red and I also wanted to wear my favorite black heels. So, I found this turtleneck and black pencil skirt, which I’ve always seen as an office staple.
And surprisingly it all worked together! So tip number 1 for shopping your closet:
Look at each piece as a stand alone. Sometimes you just have to use what you have and I know all of you have at least one item you never thought of using as a stand alone piece before.
So, what do you have hiding in your closet that could be styled Valentines date night? Take a look at everything you own and try to picture it in other ways than how you’ve styled it in the past.
