Yesterday, I shared a post about the worst possible way to take blog photos.
Today, I’m talking about exactly the opposite. Below are pictures taken on the exact same day as yesterday’s, but I wasn’t in a hurry with these and I thought out my location a lot more.
Let’s start with the first two. As you can see, I’m standing in a shadow, which, contradictory though it sounds, is perfectly lighting up my face. The sun is evenly being distributed and there are no weird washed out places.
Also, the background not only compliments my outfit, it enhances it. The background is just that. It doesn’t clash with or dominate my outfit.
Lastly, my detail shots are properly lit, but not overly so and there again, are no weird shadows.
The take away from this post:
- proper shade and lighting
- unobtrusive background
- well placed detail shots
