Wow, I was looking back at the spring version of this post and my hair has grown like crazy! Time’s sure fun when you’re having flies 😉
Anyway. Enough about flies.
I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before, but fall is my favorite time of year. I love the colors and falling leaves, the crisp air and bright sunlight. But most importantly, I love the fashion! Sweaters, jeans, scarves; I could live in this time period year round. Neutrals are a favorite in fall time because they go with everything and are great staple pieces.
Styling neutrals for fall is pretty easy. I’ve got two styling tips below.
1 | Monochromatic please.
When pairing similar colors – navy on navy, black on black, etc. – try to keep the shades the same. What do I mean? Take two navy items and place them side by side. Even though looking at each one individually they look the same, when you put them together, they will have a slight variation. And this is ok, so long as both navies are similar in temperature. Warm navy with warm, cool navy with cool. You’ll be able to tell the difference by looking at them.
2 | Add colorful accessories.
You notice that my clothes are all neutrals, but my shoes stand out being cognac. When you have a very neutral outfit, be sure to add a few pops of color to brighten the outfit just a little bit. It could be as simple as a statement watch or red lipstick.
However you are styling neutrals for fall, just keep in mind the above and you can’t go wrong! Be sure to drop me a link in the comments if you style some neutrals on your blog or any social media. I’d love to see them!
